Hope you enjoy this look back in time...

I must have read this on the ipad, hence the lack of comment. This brought back so many memories Chris. My grandfather lived at Buranda and we used to change from our trolley bus to the tram at the Gabba...spent ages there some days, especially on public holidays (no car, you see). I remember this oh, so well. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI was always fascinated with the man with the red flag, or lamp at night, walking ahead of the train... We sometimes went in to the 'Gabba to a deli there and even bought some furniture from Coupons.
ReplyDeleteI remember Wooloongabba well. When I was a child, it was our normal to be stopped at the 5 ways Woollongabba as the railway man with the bell walked in front of the train as it chugged slowly across the road. ☺
ReplyDeleteI was totally fascinated with the train being guided by the flagman... so great to see. Glad it revived happy memories for you.
